With No Disrespect.
I mean this with no disrespect, but if you are over 1oo lbs over weight lose it!
The last two cardiac arrests I worked the patients were well over 100 lbs over weight.
Tonight the patient was (according to the family) 425, if not more.....5ft 9inch.
No neck, impossible to get a tracheal tube in, took me two tries to get an interosseous line because over weight patients usuallyhave nothing for vascular access and trying to find the tibial land marks are difficult.
Being overweight not only causes health complications, but complications in how health care provider can treat you.
Let me tell you, cardiac arrests in the field suck enough...
